During the summer, I took on an internship in Fort Collins, Colorado, joining the company as the cases intern under two different managers. My responsibilities were divided between case design and fixture creation, as well as case development and product development.
The dual facet structure of my internship provided a new and enriching experience, offering exposure to various aspects of the job. Throughout this period, I gained proficiency in testing and rapid prototyping, all while maintaining and refining my SOLIDWORKS and design skills.
Designed a "Commuter" commercial iPhone case using SOLIDWORKS, employing large assembly and SOLIDWORKS product data management for effective collaboration with the development team.
Manufactured, iterated, and prototyped fixtures to assess the restricted breathing enclosure rating (EEx nR) for the "Hardline" series industrial cases.
Actively participated in sprint meetings to discuss qualitative and quantitative aspects of testing, along with the results of the procedures.
Successfully re-designed a warehouse identification fixture for the pre-iPhone 15 release using SOLIDWORKS, resulting in a $7 reduction per tool.
Engineered a laser etching fixture for iPhone, iPad, and iPhone mini cases, specifically tailored for mass manufacturing facilities.
